The Directorate of Health Services (DHS) is the head of the Manipur Health Department. This scheme was introduced in Manipur on 2nd October 1975. A per this scheme the government looks after the health, learning opportunities and nutrition for pre-school children and their mothers by simultaneously providing all the required services at the village level. The target groups of this scheme are the deprived and underprivileged children. ICDS care for small children below six years and also takes care of required needs of pregnant women and nursing.Aims and objectives of ICDS Scheme:

- To lay proper foundation of physical, psychological and social development of the child.

Health Scheme for More other backward Class (MOBC)
The Government of Manipur implemented the scheme for the benefit of the Minorities and OBC community people. Under this programme the people belonging to this community are given financial assistance in the treatment of diseases by the government. According to this scheme a lump sum of Rs.4000 to Rs 2000 is given to per patient depending upon the severity of the diseases.Janani Sishu Suraksha Karayakram (JSSK)
